SPECIAL EVENTS

EARTH HOUR, 2012

We took part in Earth Hour at school on Friday, March 30, 2012.  From 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, many of our lights were turned off.  We left a few on for safety, but otherwise we got by just fine without all those lights.  This reminded us that often we don't need lights, or other electrical devices, turned on.  Many of us then participated in Earth Hour at home with our families from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

THE LEE TREE, 2011

The fine folks from the Windsor Department of Parks and Recreation kindly donated a maple tree for a sunny corner behind our school.  Kindergarten and Grade 7 students were on hand to watch as the workers planted this very large tree.  Because Ms. Lee was instrumental in having this tree planted, the tree has affectionately been nicknamed "the Lee Tree".

MEET THE TEACHER, 2011

In September 2011, with the Pacer Prairie site starting to take shape, we used the area for our annual Meet the Teacher event.  Parents, students, and staff enjoy some good food and conversation in the great outdoors.  PS. The pasta sauce enjoyed that day was made from tomatoes, eggplant, and basil from our school Vegetable Patch.
